Cahil  Kutrafali





    Cahit Kutrafalı was born in Nicosia, Cyprus in 1984. He commenced his music education in 2002 in Eastern Mediterranean University Music Department where he got his bachelor degree of music in 2007, since then he has been performing as a band leader and working with numerous musicians and bands as a sideman from all over the island, Europe and Turkey such as Chris Byars, Gilad Atzmon, Ari Roland, Keith Balla, John Mosca, Charis Ioannou, Genco Arı, Cenk Erdogan, Vahagn Hayrapetyan, Ercument Orkut, Ioannis Vafeas, Zaid Nasser and Elif Caglar. After the political changes in Cyprus state and the opening of the crossing points in 2003, he began collaborating and sharing the music stage with different bands across the divide. He participated as an instructor at Jazz Futures & Cyprus Jazz Workshops organized by the U.S Embassy and the Jazz Education Abroad program.
Currently, besides working as an arranger for the Nicosia Municipality Orchestra and performing as a band leader and as a sideman in various projects he is working as an instructor at Ledra Art Music and Fine Arts Studio. Kutrafalı‘s first album ‘’
As It Is’’ was released in October 2015 with A.K Music Label in Turkey.
